Dirty Laundry

Today's question comes from the good folks at The Goodard House in Brookline, Mass. They ask, just how do I get my laundry done? There are two answers.
The first is pictured, a Middle Eastern washing machine. It's a pain as, unlike an American washing machine, each stage is separated. First you put your clothes in, then turn on the tap to add water, set it to agitate for X minutes and wait, then you drain, fill it with rinse water, agitate again, then take the clothes out of that bin and put them in the bin on the right. That bin is a spinner which attempts to spin the cloths dry. After that, you bring the clothes to the Middle Eastern dryer. It's one of those ultra-modern affairs that uses solar power to dry the clothes, called a clothes line.
While for some reason a number of guys prefer to do their laundry using that machine, many of us choose the second option: the twice-weekly, absolutely free, laundry service. (Like I've said before, while we're far away from home, missing loved ones, and less-than-safe all the time, it isn't terrible here and certainly 100-times better than guys in the ground war had, that's for sure.) With that, you just toss your laundry into a laundry bag, fill out a form, toss it onto the back of a truck, wait three or four days, and it comes back, cleaned and folded.
