And for one time, and one time only, the guys in my squad were treated to apple pancakes, thanks to me and Claire Peters, who long ago sent a box of pancake mix. Luckily we just happened to get a few good apples in to the chow shed. By the way, I'm cooking on a beat-up propane stove with one working burner left that we have out behind our building.
