As darkness finally fell and as we prepared to pull our guys out and head back to base, I finally lost my band of unrelenting kids. I felt it was safe enough then, and under cover of dark, to finally give out some stuffed animals. While I always try to give them out to girls, this little guy noticed me discretely give out three animals to girls who were his neighbors. He was nice, didn't pester me, and was quiet, although his eyes definitely told me that he would very much like to have a stuffed animal of his own. He got a bunny, which I think came from someone at the Goddard House.
