No, it was because a couple of guys had a craving for cotton candy.

As we drove on, we were also throwing to kids some of the last of Sgt Shriver's candy stash, finding a whole slew of candy canes at the bottom of the bag. Try as we might, these definitely did NOT make for good candy to toss as they shatter into a hundred pieces on contact with the ground.
